Authority Control in the Context of Bibliographic Control in the Electronic Environment
نویسنده
چکیده
There is a sense in which authority control and bibliographic control are coterminous — two sides of the same coin. At the very least, bibliographic control is literally impossible without authority control. Cataloguing cannot exist without standardized access points and authority control is the mechanism by which we achieve the necessary degree of standardization. Cataloguing deals with order, logic, objectivity, precise denotation, and consistency, and must have mechanisms to ensure these attributes. The same name, title, or subject should always have the same denotation (in natural language or the artificial languages of classification) each time it occurs in a bibliographic record, no matter how many times that may be. Unless there are careful records of each authorized denotation, the variants of that denotation, and citations of precedents and the rules on which that denotation is based (id est, authority control), the desired and necessary standardization cannot be achieved. Let us begin by looking at the fundamentals of cataloguing. A catalogue record consists of three parts:

A context-sensitive dynamic role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Resources and services are accessible in pervasive computing environments from anywhere and at any time. Also, due to ever-changing nature of such environments, the identity of users is unknown. However, users must be able to access the required resources based on their contexts. These and other similar complexities necessitate dynamic and context-aware access control models for such environmen...
متن کاملA semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the learning environment based on real time electronic formative assessment in medical education and its impact on learning. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 323 students studying at the Medical School of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran, during the first semester of the academic year of 2017-201...
متن کاملBilateral teleoperation control to improve transparency in stiff environment with time delay
This paper proposes a new bilateral control scheme to ensure both transparency and robust stability under unknown constant time delay in stiff environment. Furthermore, this method guaranties suitable performance and robust stability when transition occurs between soft and stiff environments. This framework is composed of an adaptive sliding mode controller and an adaptive impedance controller,...
متن کاملCAMAC: a context-aware mandatory access control model
Mandatory access control models have traditionally been employed as a robust security mechanism in multilevel security environments such as military domains. In traditional mandatory models, the security classes associated with entities are context-insensitive. However, context-sensitivity of security classes and flexibility of access control mechanisms may be required especially in pervasive c...
